Fish Boston

So if two years ago you said I would be driving a VW, and loving it, I likely would have laughed in your face. I had always been an American car kinda guy, and have owned quite a few Camaro's and Mustangs. When my daughter was born I was looking for something a little quieter and with a back seat, so I bought an SHO and loved it. It had its pros and cons, but the biggest thing it lacked was style, it was ugly. I was on Ebay looking for some new wheels, specifically some Mille Miglia spyders, when I happened to come across this Passat. I loved the look of the car right away, but wasn't really in the market for a new car, so I placed a lowball bid and was soon outbid. I was contacted by the seller a couple weeks later saying the high bidder had backed out. Long story short, I went up for a test drive and I felt the price was too good to be true, so I bought it that day.

The cars owner was Ian of northeasttuning.com, and the car already had lots of subtle and tastefully done mods, and is a real pleasure to drive. The balance of power and handling, really make the car a fun to drive. I unfortunately got laid off soon after I bought the car, and with the mileage being as high as it is, the majority of the money lately has gone into maintaining the car, rather than modding it. I still have some big plans for the car, and hopefully they will be coming this summer.

I would especially like to thank Bryan for selecting me for oneB5, it was a real surprise, and an honor. And also to everyone out there on the forums for making it a fun and informative place to visit with a positive atmosphere. All of the great things Bryan is doing with unite really makes me proud to be a member. I've met some really great guys on the forum, and would like to thank Mr.Incredible for being the super moderator that he is, and Bob for introducing me to the site, and all the great work he has done on the car. And would like to recognize Ian, as this car is still mostly his creation. Like Bryan said when I told him I wasn't sure I deserved this honor, "The car is hot, whether from your work or Ian's"
