The year was 2003, constant rising fuel prices and being disgusted with all the SUVs/Trucks in the states made me rethink owning a 3/4 ton truck. Looking for something that possesed utility cababilities and higher fuel efficiency steered me toward a wagon.
The Passat Wagon seemed to be the perfect blend of form and function for me. Fairly compact but still possesed about the same interior volume as my extended cab truck. I had my heart set on a tdI but Massachusetts regulations meant that I would be waiting forever to get one. Knowing there were more tuning options available for the 1.8T and my love to tinker with everything I own... the decision was fairly simple.
Searching the Web for ideas as to what to do to my own vehicle ultimately led me to this friendly and helpful community we know and love.
This is my everyday vehicle... Even though it has been difficult at times, I have refrained from doing anything too drastic. I've heavily modified vehicles in the past and know what it can do to reliability and/or practicality. I have kept the exterior as close to stock as possible to avoid attracting too much attention. Anything I have done has just been to make my everyday driving more enjoyable.
I was certainly shocked and honored to hear that my fairly stock vehicle had been chosen as oneB5! I certainly don't feel worthy but I'm very grateful for being chosen. Hope my boring story and photos hasn't put anyone to sleep.
