AngeloB5.5 (Angelo)

AngeloB5.5

My First car was a 1993 VW Passat GLX VR6 (B3). It was Charcoal Gray with tan leather interior. I was 18 at the time so I did not have much money for mods. I loved that car and still miss it today. I had the car converted from Auto to Manual at AWE Tuning. I also had a GIAC Chip, Koni's w/ Nuespeed springs, P-Flo, Euro dual round headlights, along with other small mods that I installed myself. I had to get rid of it because it was costing too much money to maintain. I did not know how to do even 1/4 of the mechanical things I can do today. After that car I bought a '99 Acura CL. I made the car look great (won 2nd place at Englishtown Car show) but it was boring to drive and I knew I had to get back into the VW Scene. I only owned that car for a year.

My heart was always into VW's. I had to get back into one as soon as possible. In January of '03 I picked up my brand new Passat GLS 1.8T. I knew I specifically wanted the 1.8T for its tuning capabilities but wanted the space of the Passat instead of the Golf/GTI. A month passed and I already had the 17" Audi Sport Wheels and Bilstein Sports with Eibach Springs. After that was all down hill. GIAC chip came next, then diverter valve, then intake and the list goes on. Coming from an Avionics background, I am able to do all the work on the car myself with the help of some friends and of course the forums. It is a pleasure to work on my car and see the end results. It is my time to get away from everything and just concentrate on improving the performance of my car. I have a grin on my face from ear to ear every time I get in and drive.

My goals for my car is not to be a show winner or for it to stand out more then the next guy. I like to think of all my exterior mods to be subtle and tasteful. I also do not expect my car to be the fastest or to have the greatest quarter mile times. If I wanted a fast quarter mile car I wouldn't have bought a Passat. Basically I am looking for a car that is practical and reliable to drive everyday. I need it to be responsive in handling and when I am on the throttle. I tend to do a good amount of highway driving so I need to be entertained in some way. I feel I am on the right path to compiling the parts I need to fill my expectations.

I would like to thank everyone on the forum for your help and for creating a positive atmosphere where we all can appreciate and share the love for our cars. It has been a pleasure meeting some of you in person and hopefully as time goes on more of us will cross paths. Thanks for choosing me as your oneB5. It is an honor to be part of this community. I hope you all enjoy my pictures and feel free to contact me if you have any questions on any of my mods. Special Thanks to Mauro for taking such great pictures of my car!
